How to Travel with a Foil

So you just got into foil surfing or wake foiling and want to hop on a plane to join friends and explore new waters. How the heck are you going to travel with your gear? The life hack we discovered when we began kiting years ago, works just as well for foiling....leverage a "golf bag" to load your gear. Most airlines don't give it a second thought and there's typically no charge to travel with golf clubs which also means that they don't typically weigh it so you can exceed the average 50lb threshold. (not a guarantee, just what we've observed)

I currently prone foil surf with the Armstrong Surf Tow Wake 4'11" board. Sure, it's a bit bigger than what some people use but my paddle days each year are limited so when I'm in the ocean, I want a wave catching machine. This board plus my full foil kit fit perfectly into my Armstrong "Golf Bag - Foil Kit travel Bag". As a matter of fact, I typically add in other water sports gear (wetsuit, kites, kite bar) as seen here: Foil Travel Bag

It has durable wheels to help with transport built in padding and straps. Whether you're storing for the winter, traveling by plane, train, or automobile it's a solution worth looking at. Our favorite is the Armstrong foil kit bag (https://www.halflife.live/products/golf-bag-foil-travel-bag) but take a look around. This bag or one like it is a great solution for taking your gear on the go.
