Skylon SkyLock rack review

Hello half-life nation

Do you ever run into the issue where there is just not enough room on the boat for you, your friends, family and gear, because this 72cm mast and wing for your foil is taking up all the space?

We've been hydrofoil surfing for a couple years and have tried just about everything from laying the hydrofoil boards on their side, putting them up front with wake foil covers on them, on top of the bimini, and squeezed them into existing wake surf board racks.

We simply haven't been able to find a  solution that is secure, where the foil  doesn’t wobble, put undue stress on the mast, or pressure dings on the board....until now. We've found that the Skylon SkyLock racks are currently the best solution on the market for wake foil holders.

We talked with Jason about the Skylon SkyLock rack and he pointed out that a lot of the racks on the market are angled and pitched so that when your board is on it, it ends up being tilted.  When you hit a roller, the swing weight is going to apply a lot of torque right into your board.

The Skylon SkyLock rack solves that problem.  When the foil is in the board rack, it’s on the outside of the boat and sits perfectly straight, which allows for that force to be applied straight down into the center of the board where it's the strongest. Jason built an adapter shim, which allows this rack to be placed almost 90 degrees perpendicular out from the tower itself.
